Daniil ANDRIIEV is a young pianist from Ukraine (Kyiv), the winner of many national and international competitions.

Daniil was born in 2004. His musical journey began in an unexpected and inspiring way: at the age of five Daniil asked to buy him a piano. Surprised, his parents supported this interest and took their son to Kyiv children’s music school #10, where he was immediately admitted to the preparatory piano class.

The first year of his studies brought unexpected success: it was his teacher, Anna Bogachevskaya, who spotted his brilliant musical abilities and prepared him to take part in his first competition, the IVth International festival-competition « Platinum Orfey », where Daniil won the second prize and the audience prize. This moment became the starting point of his musical destiny.

He began taking part in competitions at the age of 6, and during years of studies he took part in over 50 national and international competitions in Kiev, Vienna, Milan and the United States. He became the winner, the recipient of the Grand Prix and of the I-st, II and III grade prizes for 40 times. His major achievements include the 12th Vladimir Horowitz International Competition for Young Pianists, the 9th Milan International Piano Competition, the Danubia Talents Competition « Wiener Klassiker », the Chopin International Piano Competition (Hartford, CT), the « 21st Century Art » International Piano Competition, the 9th Yevhen Stankovych International Instrumental Competition and others.

Daniil was a very artistic child: he passed the audition and was invited to join the Revutsky boys’ and youth choir. For 10 years he combined music with ballroom dancing, but at the age of 13, it was music that became his main and constant priority.

At the age of 12, Daniil gave his first solo concert with the support of the President of Ukraine Foundation. Since then, he has taken an active part in the musical life of his school and town, performing at festivals and charity events, playing in philharmonic halls, on television and radio. One of his calling cards is the « Concert Fantasy about Shchedrik » by Ukrainian composer P. Zakharov, a work that captivated audiences with its virtuosity and artistry.

Daniil’s musical achievements have been recognized at national level on several occasions. The Mayor of Kiev and the Presidential Foundation «Ukraine» awarded him a scholarship.

In 2019, having completed his musical education he became a graduate of the Children’s music school №10 (class of Olena Voytova) with honors.

His main dream was to continue his education in Vienna, the city of great composers and musical traditions. Daniil pursued this goal with determination: he attended master classes and lessons with exceptional teachers: Yuri Kot, Dmitry Shirin, Natalia Gridneva, Denis Zhdanov, Rena Shereshevskaya, Milana Chernyavskaya, Jonathan Benichou. The pianist Pavel Kachnov (Vienna), with whom Daniil worked for five years, played a special role in his musical training. « I’m very grateful to Pavel for offering me stimulating programs, for supporting me, for believing in me and preparing me for the stage and for life », ― he says.

In 2022 when the war broke out, Daniil was forced to leave Ukraine and he ended up in Poland. Here, thanks to the support of friends and the administration of the Cultural Centre of Staszow town, he was able to continue his musical studies and gave three solo concerts as a gesture of thanks.

In April 2022, he passed listening and took masterclasses with Rena Szereszewska in Paris and entered the Conservatoire, where he studied for one year.

However, Daniil still dreamed of studying in Vienna and in 2023 he became a participant in a special program for Ukrainians at the MDW (Vienna University of music and performing arts), and in 2024 he enrolled at the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna in the class of Professor Tamara Achba. There he is continuing his studies and is building up his musical career with determination.
